First of its kind in North America

MasTec’s diesel-electric backyard is creating a lower carbon operation for mid to large trenchless crossings.

Starting with our advanced horizontal directional drilling (HDD) rig systems, MasTec has combined the latest drilling and evaluation technologies with sound engineered processes to remove the traditional barriers of running a mechanical backyard. The result is an optimized diesel-electric backyard design that offers fuel savings and low carbon emissions.

In addition to the optimized design, the diesel-electric HDD backyard is engineered to rig up and down quickly and efficiently.
